Every mastering engineer is still forced to make loud masters til today. Many mastering engineers are claiming on the web that when they make another more dynamic master for their clients and have them listen at matched levels with the loud one, their clients prefer the loud master version!!
Why is that?
The answer is (I think) peoples' ears have become lazy and accustomed to that tightly compressed sonic effect.
