Why people prefer loud masters?

Postby DMS » Wed Jun 29, 2016 10:44 am

Every mastering engineer is still forced to make loud masters. Many mastering engineers are claiming on the web that when they make another more dynamic master (softer levels) for their clients and have them listen at matched levels with the loud one, their clients prefer the loud master version!!

Why is that?

We think the answer may be that peoples' ears have now become too accustomed to that tightly compressed sonic effect.

Do you agree or disagree?
