DMS ALLMUSIC SUBMISSION APP (DASA)
Your music.
Your credits.
Ready for AllMusic.
A guided way to prepare your release details, credits, artwork, and submission email for Xperi.
The work behind a release deserves a record. The people who did it deserve to be named.
A BODY OF WORK. A RECORD OF TRUST.
A professional title makes a claim.
Credits give people something to examine.
A release carries more than an artist’s name. Behind it are decisions made by songwriters, musicians, producers, recording engineers, mixers, and mastering engineers. Accurate credits connect those people to the work they actually performed.
For a prospective client, a documented discography provides a way to examine relevant experience. It cannot replace listening, recommendations, or professional judgment. It gives those judgments a concrete starting point.
Give every role a name
Songwriters, performers, producers, and engineers. Enter contributors separately and let DMS format the credits.
Build the package
Bring the release details, Excel workbook, cover artwork, and optional artist portrait together.
Test before you send
Run an email submission test and check its attachments before preparing the final Xperi submission.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE RECORD
Why AllMusic matters
AllMusic connects recordings with the people who made them. Its artist pages, discographies, credits, and editorial coverage give listeners and music professionals a way to explore the work behind a release. For independent artists, producers, and engineers, accurate credits help document contributions that can be difficult to find on streaming platforms.
AllMusic receives its music information from Xperi, whose music metadata also serves other licensed music services. Submitting your release gives Xperi information to consider for its database. Publication, reviews, biographies, and the appearance of individual credits remain at Xperi’s discretion.

THE FACILITY BEHIND THE REPUTATION
Equipment is an investment.
Trust is earned.
A purpose-designed room, accurate monitoring, and dependable equipment represent a substantial commitment. Established facilities also provide something that equipment alone cannot: an environment in which engineers learn standards, work alongside experienced colleagues, and become accountable for releases entrusted to them.
That is the professional pathway DMS founder Edward Vinatea emphasizes: learn the craft, earn responsibility, and build a body of work. An independent studio may carry years of that experience into a smaller facility. Its reputation rests on the work and relationships behind it.
WHY EDWARD BUILT DASA
The work is finished.
The documentation still matters.
In Edward’s experience preparing submissions, labels and established studios have had an administrative advantage: staff or interns who can gather release information, organize contributor credits, and handle the detailed submission process. Independent professionals frequently have to do that work themselves.
The DMS AllMusic Submission App (DASA) brings that preparation into a guided workflow. It helps assemble an existing release’s information for Xperi’s consideration. It does not create experience, certify engineering ability, or award professional status. The work must already exist, and the credits must truthfully describe it.
PROFESSIONAL RECOGNITION
Credits are professional credentials.
Accurate credits are professional credentials, not just a list of names. The Recording Academy (NARAS) requires commercially distributed, verifiable credits for Voting Membership and explicitly accepts AllMusic as a professional credit source for GRAMMY participation certificate applications. For artists, producers, engineers, managers, and labels, a documented release and its personnel credits provide an independent reference for the work behind the music. That makes accurate AllMusic listings valuable beyond promotion. The DMS AllMusic Submission App helps organize the release details and contributor roles for Xperi’s consideration; it does not confer Academy membership or GRAMMY eligibility.

FROM DETAILS TO DELIVERY
Seven easy steps. One organized submission.
Xperi’s spreadsheet requires careful attention: release details, track information, contributor names, roles, and formatting must be entered consistently. Gathering and repeating that information is tedious, and small entry mistakes are easy to overlook. Xperi warns that invalid submissions may be excluded. Careful preparation matters.
The DMS AllMusic Submission App turns spreadsheet preparation into a guided process. Enter your release details, add the songwriters and contributors, select their roles, and upload your artwork. DMS prepares the Excel workbook and email so you can review the package before sending it.
Your cover. Automatically named correctly.
No manual file renaming. DASA names your cover image using the UPC you enter, preserves leading zeros, and attaches it as [UPC].jpg. Your original file stays unchanged. You only need to make sure the UPC belongs to the release.
Foolproof preparation, with required checks at every step.
DASA guides you through each step and stops you when something required is missing or needs fixing. It handles credit formatting for you, so you can review a complete submission before sending.

SEE IT BEFORE XPERI DOES
Your inbox is the final rehearsal.
An email submission test sends the letter and attachments to your chosen address. Open the workbook. Check the artwork. Read the email as its recipient will.
Your filled form and selected images remain available in the open tab, so you can prepare another email submission test or the real submission without starting again.
- Review the exact destination and message.
- Inspect the spreadsheet and image attachments.
- Give final approval only when you are ready.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN
A few practical answers
When Will I See My Credits on AllMusic.com?
As of 2023, Xperi’s automated acknowledgment advised allowing up to eight weeks for submissions to be processed in the order received. Periodically search AllMusic.com for your release title. Processing times may vary.
Xperi does not guarantee inclusion or which information and individual credits will appear. A missing listing does not by itself establish rejection. Its acknowledgment also stated that status inquiries and requests for expedited processing could not be accommodated.
Do not submit the release again while waiting. DMS permits one real submission per release and UPC. If the release appears and needs corrections, pursue those independently through the relevant AllMusic or Xperi contact channel; DASA is not a correction-submission service.
What artwork can I upload?
Use JPEG files no larger than 2 MB each. The cover must be square and at least 800 × 800 pixels. An optional artist portrait may be rectangular, with both dimensions at least 800 pixels.
Can I submit several releases together?
DMS handles one release and UPC per form. A Digital Single contains one track; DMS requires at least two tracks for CD and LP releases. These are DMS workflow restrictions.
Does sending guarantee an AllMusic listing?
No. Xperi controls inclusion, publication timing, editorial coverage, and the credits displayed. SMTP confirmation means the email was accepted for delivery.
Can I submit the same release again?
You can run email submission tests without using your real submission. DMS permits one real submission per release and UPC. Do not resubmit a release to check its status.
A PROFESSIONAL TOOL. A PREMIUM BENEFIT.
Premium is the pathway to DASA.
When member enrollment opens, DASA access will be included with a successful $7.99 monthly payment or $69.99 annual payment. Annual members will receive immediate access after payment. The $2.99 introductory month includes the Premium profile only; DASA unlocks after the first successful standard monthly payment.
Creator, Community Member, and YouTube Perk accounts do not include DASA access. Membership must remain active, and DMS may suspend access for misuse. Submitters remain responsible for accurate credits and their authority to submit a release.
Member enrollment is being prepared. Current access remains Admin and Co-Admin only. Premium membership does not award professional certification or guarantee inclusion in AllMusic.
DIRECTORY OF MUSIC STUDIOS
Give your work the documentation
it deserves.
DMS reduces repetitive typing, checks required information, and prepares credits consistently. The goal is a clearer submission process with fewer avoidable formatting mistakes. It cannot guarantee that Xperi will accept or publish a release.
